Tutorials

Below you will find links to a variety of tutorials that I have produced for teaching library patrons how to use databases. The first group is made with shockwave flash and these can be played directly in the browser window. The second group are made as PDF documents and would therefore be ideal for printing as well for being put online for download from the library's website.

Tutorials made with Shockwave Flash (.swf)

The following tutorials are in Shockwave Flash format. They were created with a program called "Wink" More information can be found on my blog entry on this topic here.

Tutorials in PDF format

Flash tutorials are a very dynamic way to teach journal database skills to patrons. Sometimes however, people may require a more traditional and portable way of taking the lesson with them. Portable Document Format (PDF) offers a method of viewing and printing tutorials. I have seen similar tutorials to these put on the library's website as well as printed and placed with other documents of interest in the document self-service area of the library.
